Dirty, Dirty Jobs

My kids love a show called Dirty Jobs, on the Discovery channel. A guy named Mike Rowe goes around and tries out all sorts of dirty jobs. It is a pretty funny show and a pretty gross one sometimes.
One day I was looking at the pictures on my camera and stumbled across these.

Yes, while I was gone one day they decided to play Dirty Jobs in the back yard. Scott said they had a blast. I was sorry that I missed watching them play but not sorry I missed the cleanup.

I Love You!!

I happened to capture this sweet little talk that Brendan and Vivi were having. Brendan caught me filming but he kept on like he was before I started. I love it when he says, "I love you" to her. She definitely had a lot to say back.

Free Money!!!!

FREE MONEY, now who doesn't like that. My wonderful husband was surprised this semester with a one time $2000.00 scholarship for Academic and Clinical Achievement. (We were very excited to get it especially since we had to buy a new car this semester.) He also got Honors Passing in the clinic which only about 10 people in the class get. I am so proud of Scott he is doing so well in school. I am also so excited to say that we are more than half way through school. It feels so great to be on the home stretch.

Vivian's Blessing

On Aug. 16th we blessed Vivian. I was a very special day for us. My cousin Leta, who is so amazingly talented, made Vivi a beautiful dress. We were so happy to be able to have my parents here with us for her blessing. It was so great to have my dad be able to stand in with Scott. We missed having the rest of our family there though. Scott gave her a wonderful blessing about being a strong yw and recognizing the Lord's hand in all aspects of her life. It was such a wonderful day with my little family. I am so grateful for all of my kids. It has been so great to see how Isaac, Brendan, and Cadee love Vivian. Vivian is such a wonderful baby, we are so blessed to have her in our family. I couldn't imagine our family without her.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from her blessing day.

HELP

Wow it has been a long time. I have lots of things that I want to blog about (Vivi's blessing, visits from Grandmas and Grandpa, broken arm, scholarships, etc.) but I am so far behind that I almost don't know where to start. So because all of you know how great I am at making decisions I would like some help with a starting place. Leave a comment and let me know what you would like to hear from me about our family/life. I will do my best to get it blogged asap. Your comments will give me the motivation to get back into the blogging groove. Thanks all!!

Vivi's Quick Arrival

Well on July 21st I headed to the Dr. in the a.m. I was so ready to be done being pregnant and when she checked me I was at a 2 and I asked if she would strip my membranes. She did and I went on with my day. I stopped at Target and looked around for a while since I needed to kill some time before I went to the airport to pick up Rolane. While I was there I had a few good contractions and thought maybe today will be the day. I got Rolane and we headed home and went about our everyday business. After dinner I had a few more random contractions and thought I better get a bag ready just in case. I started to but then sat down and vegged for a while because I was exhausted. Then I started to have some contractions that really hurt between 7 and 8 and so it began.
I thought I would have a few hours of this at home so I got in the bath because my back was killling me. I felt some pressure but for some reason it didn't click that hey you are pretty far along get going. While I was in the bath it got really bad and I decided I should get out and get going to the hospital. I yelled for Scott to finish getting things in the bag and I started to get out. I could hardly get out of the tub and get dressed. By this time it was about 9:30-9:45 ish and I was sitting on the bed telling Scott what else to get, finally I just said forget it you can get things later we need to go NOW. He helped me to the car and drove as fast as he could in the rain to get there.
By this time my contractions were 2min or less apart and I was dying. By the time we got off the freeway I was yelling "She is coming I can feel her!!!!" we pulled up to the hospital with me yelling that over and over. lLater Scott told me that he thought at first I was just being over dramatic, it didn't take long to realize that I wasn't. Scott flew into the ER yelling my wife is having a baby now. The people in the ER were just a little ho hum so Scott ran back out throwing the automatic doors open because the didn't open fast enough. The gaurds were trying to fix them and I was stuck in the van because I couldn't get out or walk. Scott ran back in and grabbed the first wheelchair he could find and started out with it becuase the ER people were still moving slow. It was a tiny wheelchair and the nurses said I wouldn't fit in it but Scott told them it didn't matter. When they finally got me in it I kept telling the nurse "I need to push." She would say "Don't." THen I would say "I know but I need to she is coming I can feel her"
They got me back to the room and nurses where running all over trying to find what they needed and the Dr.s were saying "Can she make it upstairs?"
"No she can't"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
They had me start pushing and in two pushes she came flying out. It was a good thing the Dr. was sitting there to catch her before she flew off the bed. The cord was around her neck twice but she was perfectly fine once they got it off. I was still in shock that it all happened so fast and was lucky I made it there. We had here within 5 min of getting there at 10:20.
I know I should have known to leave sooner since it was my 4th baby but for some reason logic didn't kick in very quickly, I kept thinking but I just started labor it can't be time yet. Next time though I am going to go to the hospital the first time I feel a real contraction.

Lunch Anyone???

Cadee just made her own lunch. Does anyone want some? She made a raspberry jam, dill pickle relish, and Parmesan cheese sandwich on a roll with strawberry milk and a maraschino cherry on the side. mmmmmmmm delicious.
You may be asking yourself did she eat it . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . no she didn't. She didn't like the parmesan on it so she made another one with just raspberry jam and dill pickle relish.
She got my dad to taste it and thought it was funny when he made a very disgusted face. Did she eat this one? Yes she did, all the topping and left the bun.
